News update from Prefab 1B

Last Thursday the mayor came to visit. She officially opened our new school library by cutting the ribbon.

We have been practicing building things with Lego that can move. It is very exciting.
We made blossom trees in art to mark Chinese New Year on February 10th.

In geography we were learning about the location of our homes and the school. We went for a walk to find out what was in front of the school, behind the school and beside the school.

On Tuesday, we helped teacher make pancakes for Pancake Tuesday, they were delicious!

Magnet magic

Today we were learning about magnets. We learned that a magnet has a North Pole and a South Pole . When we pushed south and south together they didn't stick they repelled eachother . It was the same result when we put north and north together. BUT when we put opposite sides together. They were attracted to eachother and stuck together.
We made different shapes with copper coins and explored different ways to make the magnets attract things.
